General Information

Councils are part of the democratic framework of Australia. Elections give an opportunity to elect representatives who aim, to contribute to effective local government through the decisions they will be empowered to make on behalf of the community.

The community elects their council members every four years and the next general elections will happen in November 2026.

You must be enrolled to vote and all voting is by post. Eligible voters will receive a voting pack through the mail and must return their ballot material in a reply-paid envelope. To find out more about who you can enrol and how, please visit our Enrol to vote page. Click here
