Children's University
.

Renmark Paringa Council is a member of and offers ‘Children’s University Australasia’ (CUA).  CUA aims to encourage high quality out of school activities for children aged between 7 and 14 years, engaging the wider community as learning partners in this process.  The most important principles of CUA are that participation is voluntary and activities must take place outside the normal school day during lunch, after school, weekends and holidays.

Participating members will have access to activities at Council locations, online and also in the wider community (Learning Destinations) including locally as well as state wide. These activities have been validated by CUA trained staff as good learning experiences.

Each child is issued with a Passport to Learning in which the hours of each validated activity are recorded. Once they have reached the required number of hours children will graduate from the Children’s University. Certificates will be presented at graduation ceremonies.

The program runs annually and concludes with an annual graduation ceremony run by Children's University held in the Riverland (date and location tbc).

If your child is aged between 7-14 years old and lives in the Renmark Paringa Council area they are eligible to be involved! Currently, Renmark North Primary School and St Joseph’s School Renmark are participating in the program – if your child attends either of these schools, please contact their CU coordinator to find out how they can be involved through school. Otherwise, to find out more, or to register your child to participate in the Children's University program with Renmark Paringa Council, please contact the Renmark Paringa Library on 8586 5544 or library@renmarkparinga.sa.gov.au
