Renmark West expansion project moves into construction

Construction of Renmark Paringa Council’s major Renmark West Rural Neighbourhood Expansion will begin in the coming weeks, progressing a project that will unlock the potential for more than 500 new lifestyle allotments on the fringe of Renmark.

The construction phase marks a major step forward for the project, which will extend Council’s Community Wastewater Management System (CWMS) into Renmark West and provide the infrastructure needed to support future development.

As works get underway, nearby residents, businesses and road users will notice increased activity around the project area, including construction vehicles, machinery and contractors.

Some temporary road closures, traffic management and changes to access may be required as construction progresses.

Council will provide information ahead of any planned closures or significant impacts, with updates provided as works move through different stages.

Residents directly affected by the works have been notified and will continue to receive information about upcoming construction activities and any impacts that may affect them.

The community is reminded to take care around the project site, follow traffic management signage and allow additional time when travelling through the area.

Since first announcing the project at the start of the year, Council has received strong interest and positive support for the development opportunities it will create, with several large subdivisions already progressing in the expansion area.

The project is expected to cost around $3 million and is being funded through borrowing, with costs to be recovered over time through developer contributions as new allotments are created.

Construction is expected to be completed in early 2027.
