Public Consultation - Draft Community Engagement Policy
Renmark Paringa Council is inviting community feedback on its Draft Community Engagement Policy.
The Community Engagement Policy is a statutory requirement under Section 50A of the Local Government Act 1999 and outlines how Council will undertake public consultation and engagement activities in accordance with the Local Government Act 1999 Community Engagement Charter.
The South Australian Government introduced a new Community Engagement Charter, effective from 11 December 2025, which establishes updated requirements for how councils engage with their communities. Council’s Draft Community Engagement Policy has been developed to align with these new requirements.
Community participation is an important part of helping Council develop informed decisions, policies and plans that reflect local needs and priorities.
Consultation on the Draft Community Engagement Policy commences on Wednesday, 3 June 2026 and closes at 5pm on Wednesday, 24 June 2026.
Following the consultation period, all feedback received will be considered by Council prior to the final adoption of the policy.
