Have Your Say on Renmark Paringa’s Rating Review

Published 25th March 2026

Renmark Paringa Council is inviting community feedback as it reviews how general rates are shared across different types of properties.

This important review is focused on making the rating system fair, simple, and up to date -not on increasing the total amount of rates collected.

As communities evolve and property values change, it’s essential to ensure the way rates are distributed still reflects local needs and the services Council provides.

This review looks at key elements such as fixed charges and differential rates across residential, commercial, industrial, primary production, and vacant land.

Council is committed to ensuring the system remains clear, equitable, and aligned with how different properties use local services.

Community consultation is a vital part of this process, as required under the Local Government Act, and all residents are encouraged to take part.

Consultation is open from Thursday 26 March to Thursday 16 April 2026.

Residents, business owners, and community members are invited to share their views on:

  • Whether you support or oppose the proposed changes
  • The fairness and equity of the proposed rate distribution
  • Impacts on your household, business, or sector
  • Suggestions for alternative approaches
  • Any other considerations Council should take into account

There are several ways to have your say, including completing the online feedback form, emailing Council, submitting feedback in person, or attending a community information session.

All feedback received during the 21-day consultation period will be carefully considered before Council finalises its Rating Policy as part of the 2026/27 Annual Business Plan and Budget.
