R U OK? Conversation Convoy Coming to Renmark
Renmark locals are invited to enjoy a free community barbecue and take part in an important mental health workshop when the R U OK? Conversation Convoy rolls into town next month.
The big yellow van will be set up on the Renmark Riverfront on Thursday, 9 October, offering a relaxed day of good food, connection and support.
A free community BBQ will run from 11.30am to 1.00pm, alongside fun children’s activities hosted by Headspace, making it a family-friendly event for all ages.
Following lunch, community members are encouraged to head to the Hotel Renmark for the “Locals Know Best” workshop from 2.00pm to 3.30pm. This free 90-minute session will give participants the skills to:
- Recognise when someone may be struggling
- Build confidence to ask “Are you OK?” in a meaningful way
- Listen with care, encourage action and follow up
- Share feedback to help shape R U OK? resources for the local community
Renmark Paringa Council is proud to support the event, highlighting the importance of equipping locals with practical tools to check in with friends, family and neighbours.
Council encourages residents to take part, enjoy a sausage in the sunshine, and walk away with knowledge that can truly make a difference.
