Levee Monitoring Tool
This tool is one of many in the suite of tools to assist Council in monitoring the levee network. Council staff and contractors will be monitoring the full 38 km levee network daily and in some instances, some levee banks will be monitored twice daily. The integrity of our levee network is vital to protecting our towns and if a fault is found it is imperative that it is reported to Council on 8580 3000 immediately. This phoneline is monitored 24/7 and our levee monitoring team will respond to reported faults straight away as timing is crucial in order to repair any faults.
The levee monitoring tool is not intended to encourage people to monitor the Council’s levee network on our behalf as we have a fully established monitoring team and schedule for this. We are however aware that so many from our community are out and about exploring and we want to educate the community on what faults they need to be on the lookout for and how to report them.
Not all faults have been listed in the document so the golden rule is, if you see anything which doesn’t seem right report it to Council on 8580 3000 straight away and we’ll investigate it.
