Bert Dix Memorial Park and Playground
Located in Paringa, Bert Dix Memorial Park overlooks the Murray River and offers stunning views of the historic Paringa Bridge, making it a popular spot for picnics, small gatherings, and special occasions.
The park features a peaceful riverside setting with barbecues, picnic tables, and toilet facilities. A new fully fenced playground, installed in 2024 after the 2022/23 floods, is located at the southern end of the park. A public boat ramp and ample parking are also available.
A creek running through the park creates a shady backdrop of willow trees and supports water management projects within the Pike Floodplain. Interpretive signage explains the nearby regulator and fishway structures, which help restore biodiversity to the area.
Visitors can also enjoy views of the Paringa Bridge lift span, raised daily at 9:30am and 2:30pm (bookings essential, river traffic dependent), or connect to the Lock 5 Loop Trail, which links the park to Lock 5 and back towards Renmark.
