Council Elections 2027
Council elections are held every four years and give you the opportunity to vote for the Mayor and Council Members who make decisions for the Renmark Paringa district. Following a deferral from the scheduled November 2026 elections, the next council elections will be held in April 2027.
Overview
Participating in your local council election is one of the most direct ways you can make a difference to everyday life in your community.
Unlike the State and Federal elections, voting in the local government is conducted by post and it’s not compulsory, but if you’re a resident, own a business or are part of an eligible group in Renmark Paringa, casting a vote is the best way to have your say about what happens in your local community.
All voting is done by post and enrolled voters receive a voting package through the mail and return their votes in a reply-paid envelope.
Your vote will help determine who holds the role of Mayor and each of the 8 councillor positions for the next four years.
You can influence what happens in your local community in two ways:
- by voting for a candidate who represents your views
- by nominating for a position on Council.
