Argo Barge

Renowned as the largest Barge to operate on the Murray River system, the Argo was used mainly to pump water into or out of the main river. In the 1920's, the Argo Barge was employed in the construction of the locks, weirs and barrages.

Canoe the Riverland

Hire a kayak and follow our Self-Guided Trail for only the cost of the hire, launching directly into the sensational wetlands from our riverfront property near Renmark-Paringa. The creeks allow loops that can take as little as one hour, or spend a day exploring the natural environment with its birds and wildlife so consider bringing a picnic lunch. Hire includes PFD, paddle, waterproof bag and map.

We also provide Guided Tours for those who would like a commentary on the river with its environment and history.

Sunset Tours are offered daily but we also provide short tours at any time of the day.

Paddle Steamer Industry

The PS Industry was commissioned as a work boat in 1911. It played a major role in keeping the river open to traffic, by removing snags and later in the construction of locks and weirs. Retiring in 1969, it now steams at regular intervals throughout the year and is moored on the Renmark Riverfront.

Paringa Bridge

The Paringa Suspension Bridge is one of only four still spanning the Murray River. Opened in 1927, the lift span still opens to allow river traffic through, Monday to Friday at 9.30am and 2.30pm.
