The Regional Landscape Levy (previously known as the Natural Resources Management Levy (NRM)) is a State tax. Council is required under the Landscape South Australia Act 2019 to collect the levy on behalf of the Murraylands and Riverland Landscape Board.

The levy helps to fund the operations of regional landscape boards who have responsibility for the management of the State’s natural resources. These responsibilities include regional landscape planning, water allocation planning, community capacity building, education, and compliance activities.

This levy is not retained by Council, nor do Council determine how the levy is spent.

In 2023/24 the amount Council is required to collect on behalf of the Murraylands and Riverland Landscape Board is $392,616.

For further information on this levy, you can contact the Murraylands and Riverland Landscape Board on 8532 9100 or MRenquiries@sa.gov.au or visit their website at www.landscape.sa.gov.au
