Renmark Swimming Centre Upgrade

Renmark Swimming Centre Upgrade

What was the Project?

The original Pool was opened on 22 November 1975 after a joint financed ventured by Corporation of the Town of Renmark, Australian Government and State Government. As such, after 46 years of servicing the community the Pool needed serious renovations to ensure its continued service to the community. The Centre’s redevelopment project is a ‘reactivation’ of the space around the pool complex, coupled with an improvement to the physical connection between the pool and nearby facilities, to encourage more people swimming from our community.

What works have occurred at the Centre?

* A new compliant filtration system that will keep the pool operating more efficiently
* Wet deck edges on the 50m pool with upgraded hobs to competition standard with new diving blocks
* Solar heating to the Learn to Swim and Toddler Pools and a solar blanket for the big pool to keep the pool warmer for longer
* New access ramp into the 50m pool and new concourse around the entire pool.
* New liner inside the pool
* New shade shelters on the northern and western sides of the 50m pool
* Replacement frontage fencing
* Upgraded entry gates with new black finish

How was the project funded?

The Renmark Swimming Centre project had a budget of $3.5 million with $500,000 of Federal funding through the Community Sport Aus Program and the remainder provided by Council.
