The Renmark Paringa Council, together with the Berri Barmera Council and the District Council of Loxton Waikerie, has formed a Regional Development Assessment Panel (RRDAP), pursuant to Section 34 of the Development Act 1993.
The role of RRDAP is primarily to determine whether or not to grant Development Plan Consent under The Development Act 1993 for various kinds of development. The RRDAP makes their assessment in accordance with the requirements of The Development Act 1993, and on the basis of Council's Development Plan applying at the time an application is lodged. In addition to its statuary requirements, RRDAP is able to provide advice to Council in regard to development trends and issues, Development Plan issues, assessment timelines and other matters that have become apparent through its assessment of applications.
The Panel is comprised of independent members and elected members of each of the respective Councils. The following people have been appointed as members of the RRDAP:
Independent Presiding Member
- Mr Bruce Ballantyne
- Mr Geoffrey Parsons (Renmark Paringa)
- Mr Jake McVicar (Berri Barmera)
- Mrs Julie Lewis (Loxton Waikerie)
- Cr Mark Chown (Renmark Paringa)
- Cr Rhonda Centofanti (Berri Barmera)
- Cr Michael Zeppel (Loxton Waikerie)
