Renmark to the Border Local Action Planning
The Renmark to the Border Local Action Planning (RBLAP) Committee was formed in 1996 and is one of eleven LAP committees that operates throughout the South Australian Murray-Darling Basin catchment area. The RBLAP incorporates the boundaries of the District Council of Renmark Paringa comprising of approximately 170,500 hectares encompassing the townships of Renmark, Paringa and Lyrup.
Local Action Planning is the key integrated process that provides support for community led actions designed to achieve economic, social and environmental benefits.
Throughout the sixteen years of the RBLAP’s operation it has been managing a number of natural resource management projects upwards of $3.3 million, over 75% of this investment goes directly to the local community through initiatives and on-ground projects.
Today, more than ever, Local Action Planning Groups are the vital link that assists the local community to achieve worthwhile on-ground actions in the area of natural resource management. Current RBLAP Committee
The Renmark to the Border LAP committee is made up of community members who live and work in the local area. All committee members are volunteers who invest their valuable time and energy into effective management, development and promotion of the LAP’s activities and achievements. Collectively, the committee members have considerable knowledge and practical experience in a wide range of natural resource management issues.
